Glenn Crytzer's ensembles specialize in the authentic sounds of the Jazz Age and Swing Era. While his acclaimed big band is available for larger spaces and special events, his versatile small groups – including the Glenn Crytzer Quartet and Glenn Crytzer's Savoy Seven – are perfectly suited for the intimate settings of bars, restaurants, and smaller jazz club. These combos offer the same commitment to period-perfect performance and infectious swing, allowing Glenn to provide an option for rooms of all sizes.
Thanks to their musical sophistication, melodic emphasis, wit, and sartorial elegance, Crytzer's ensembles have a proven track record of creating memorable performances and successful residencies that attract a refined clientele. They have graced the stages of renowned jazz clubs and festivals such as The Redwood Coast Music Festival, the Winter Jazz Festival, The Sun Valley Jazz Festival, the San Diego Jazz Festival, The Django, Zinc Bar, The Jazz Loft, Minton's, Swing 46, Winnie's Jazz Bar, and Cliff Bells and have also appeared at iconic New York City hospitality venues like The Rainbow Room and The Plaza Hotel.
Thanks to both his musical acumen and a deep understanding of F&B operations / marketing (in addition to a Masters in Music Composition from the Cleveland Institute of Music Glenn also holds a Certificate of F&B Management from Cornell), Glenn has become an expert at developing residencies that draw repeat customers and help venues reach a substantially wider customer base. Past residencies with Crytzer’s Orchestra or Quartets include Pegu Club, Chelsea Music Hall, Kola House, The Montauk Club, the Palm Court at the Plaza Hotel, The Secret Room, Honey Bees, Blacktail, and The Alamo Drafthouse. Glenn currently holds residencies with his quartet at Peck Slip Social in the FiDi and Festival Cafe on the UES.
As a critically acclaimed figure in the Jazz Age and Swing Era revival, Glenn Crytzer is known for his uncompromising dedication to authentic sound on record as well as in live performance. Glenn’s recordings have been licensed by entertainment companies like Disney, Netflix, Hulu, and ABC for dozens of motion pictures and TV shows including Detective Pikachu, The Valet, Riverdale, Pretty Little Liars, Agent Carter, Bomb Girls, Manhattan, Margot Robbie's Dreamland, Disney’s Christopher Robin, Frankie Drake Mysteries, and and Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities. His 2019 Christmas album Underneath the Mistletoe was mentioned by Rolling Stone among that year’s notable holiday releases, and his recordings have been noted for their infectious swing and fidelity to period styles by jazz publications such as Jazz Lives, Jazz Weekly, the Syncopated Times and All About Jazz. Starting in the Summer of 2025, Glenn will be consistently releasing a new song every Friday, further bolstering his online presence and expanding his fanbase, offering additional exposure and appeal for your venue.
